Everything you need to know about RouteReceipts.
RouteReceipts is a Stripe App that gives you control over which customers receive invoice receipt emails. Instead of Stripe's all-or-nothing receipt setting, RouteReceipts lets you maintain an allowlist of specific customers who should get receipts.
Install RouteReceipts directly from the Stripe Marketplace. Once installed, it appears in your Stripe dashboard sidebar. No code or webhook configuration is required.
Yes. To avoid duplicate receipts, you should disable Stripe's automatic receipt emails in your email settings. RouteReceipts then handles delivery only for customers on your allowlist.
You add customers to your allowlist by customer ID or email address. When an invoice is paid, RouteReceipts checks if the customer is on your list. If they are, the receipt is sent. If not, it's suppressed. Every decision is logged for your records.
Yes. You can add entries using a Stripe customer ID (cus_xxxxx), an email address, or both. When you enter a customer ID, RouteReceipts will automatically look up and pre-fill the email address from Stripe.
Receipt delivery is paused until your next billing period begins or you upgrade to a higher plan. A banner appears in the dashboard to let you know. No data is lost — receipts are simply not sent during the pause.
The free plan includes up to 20 receipts per month, full allowlist management, a decision audit log, and the dashboard-native UI. No credit card required.
Go to the RouteReceipts settings page within your Stripe dashboard. From there you can upgrade to Pro or Business, or open the billing portal to manage your subscription, update payment methods, or cancel.
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Your paid plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, then reverts to the free plan.
RouteReceipts uses Stripe's permissioned API to read customer information, invoice events, and charge data. It writes only to the charge receipt_email field to trigger receipt delivery. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
RouteReceipts processes receipt routing for invoices that generate charge events. This covers the standard invoice payment flow. Manually sent invoices and subscription invoices are both supported.
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Our database is hosted on managed infrastructure with DigitalOcean. All requests between the Stripe App and our servers are verified using Stripe's signature authentication. We store only the minimum data needed for receipt routing decisions.
